Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support design, analysis, and field learning for substation projects. You will work under senior engineers, creating design documents, wiring diagrams, and material lists while applying engineering standards.

Responsibilities include performing calculations such as load flow and short-circuit studies, and gaining hands-on experience at job sites.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals
• Basic knowledge of three phase power systems
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and written
• Knowledge of common word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail software

Responsibilities

• Create design documents, drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials for substation projects under senior engineer supervision.
• Perform calculations and studies: relay burden, load flow, short circuit, ground grid design, and transformer sizing.
• Apply industry standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI) and gain hands-on experience at job sites.
• Deliver accurate work on schedule, solve problems proactively, and travel to project sites as needed.
