Job summary

Dashiell, a Quanta Services unit, seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to support design and engineering tasks for substations. You will work under supervision to create wiring diagrams, bill of materials, and as-built markings while learning industry software and standards.

Preferred is a power-focused EE student with strong fundamentals and the ability to collaborate on project teams, travel occasionally, and contribute to project schedules.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university (power focus preferred).
• Strong knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals and three-phase systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist design team in creating design documents and drawings for substations.
• Perform engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit, and transformer sizing under supervision.
• Learn engineering software for ground grid design, relay coordination, and wiring diagrams.
• Apply NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards where applicable.
• Gain hands-on knowledge at job sites and in substation construction and design.
