Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join a project team and gain hands-on experience in substation design, engineering calculations, and documentation under supervision.

You will learn industry standards, collaborate with engineers, and participate in field visits to enhance practical understanding of power systems and project execution.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power focus.
• Prior internship or related work in power preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Familiarity with electrical fundamentals and standards.

Responsibilities

• Create design documents and drawings for substation projects under supervision.
• Develop wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and as-built markups.
• Perform engineering calculations (load flow, short circuit) under supervision.
• Learn and apply NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Support project schedule and coordinate tasks with the team.
• Spend time at job sites to gain hands-on substation experience.
