Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member delivers coaching and mentoring to elementary, middle, and/or high school students to boost academic success, attendance, and behavior. Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff.

You will participate in both individual and small-group activities, support whole-school initiatives, and be part of a nationwide City Year team dedicated to student success and community impact.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities by student level
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students
• Develop interpersonal skills through daily practice and reflection
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and enter data
• Support school-wide engagement initiatives and student clubs
