Job description
Overview

You've already achieved excellence—whether in athletics, the arts, or professional environments. Now you're prepared to channel that achievement into meaningful impact. At GT Anywhere, academic advisors empower students to accomplish the extraordinary: embrace learning, accelerate their progress, and develop into confident, independent thinkers. This role can be performed from any location worldwide.

GT Anywhere operates as a virtual institution for gifted learners seeking acceleration. We combine AI-driven academics with personalized coaching to provide what conventional schools cannot: unlimited learning pace, comprehensive depth across sciences and humanities, and a community of like-minded intellectual peers. In the Academic Advisor role, you\'ll support 3rd–8th grade students who are prepared to advance rapidly. Content instruction isn\'t your responsibility—our technology manages that. You serve as the coach who cultivates confidence, maintains high standards, and enables students to unlock their potential. Each coaching session is significant. Each milestone achieved matters.

If you\'ve reached elite performance levels—in sports, performing arts, research, or commerce—and wish to enable the next generation to do likewise, this position is for you.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Conducting biweekly 1:1 virtual coaching conversations with each student, centered on academic planning, motivation, and growth mindset
  • Hosting open "office hours" sessions where students can join for immediate support, encouragement, or problem-solving
  • Leveraging AI tools and performance dashboards to monitor student advancement, pinpoint obstacles, and refine your coaching methods
  • Documenting observations, concerns, and tactical adjustments to keep each student progressing on an accelerated growth path
  • Working alongside your team to exchange effective practices, elevate issues, and continuously enhance the coaching framework
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Instructing lessons, evaluating assessments, or distributing homework—our technology manages the academic content
  • Presenting lectures or adhering to a prescribed curriculum
  • Supervising or excessively managing unmotivated students—we coach, we don\'t micromanage
  • Attending redundant meetings or navigating bureaucratic processes
  • Operating at minimal effort—this team is designed for individuals committed to high-level performance with meaningful impact
Academic Advisor Key Responsibilities

Generate measurable academic advancement and student engagement for virtual learners through high-frequency, high-impact mindset coaching within a fully remote, technology-enabled environment.

Basic Requirements
  • Master\'s degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience coaching, mentoring, or motivating K–8 students
  • Proven high performance in any field—academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or the arts
  • Strong virtual presence and ability to connect with students quickly over Zoom/Google Meet
  • Comfortable using dashboards and tech tools to track and adjust performance
  • Ability to maintain at least 80 percent overlap with US business hours
Nice-to-have Requirements
  • PhD in any field
  • Background in performance coaching, sports psychology, or motivational work
  • Experience working with homeschool or alternative education families
