Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary through high school, helping students achieve academic progress, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. Training is provided (2–4 weeks) at the start, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and staff to monitor progress and support student learning.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025 and have a diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete background check and start by July/August 2025

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and math activities by student level
• Create and implement a behavior management system
• Foster interpersonal skills through daily routines
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress in City Year data system
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space with teachers
