City Year AmeriCorps members are trained tutors and mentors who partner with schools to help students succeed academically and develop positive behaviors. You will coach elementary to high school students, track progress, and collaborate with teachers to support in-class instruction and targeted interventions.

This entry-level, paid, full-time role includes 2–4 weeks of training, a bi-weekly living stipend, and access to education benefits through AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

• Becoming a City Year AmeriCorps member requires a dedication to tutoring and mentoring in schools.
• Training provided at start of year to support you in coaching students.
• Ability to work with teachers and staff to monitor progress.

Responsabilités

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to improve literacy and math.
• Develop behavior management plans and safe classroom climates.
• Monitor student progress and participate in data reviews.
• Support school initiatives to increase student engagement and attendance.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan in-class instruction and after-school programs.
