City Year AmeriCorps members provide coaching and mentoring to elementary, middle and/or high school students to foster academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors. You’ll plan and monitor individual progress, work with teachers on in-class support, and participate in school-wide programs that engage families and students.

This entry-level, full-time position includes training, benefits, and relocation support as part of City Year’s AmeriCorps program in the United States.

Formación

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary.
• We provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you.
• You will work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way.

Responsabilidades

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skill development with varied activities.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Develop interpersonal skills through daily activities and reflection.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect, record, and monitor student progress.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space with the teacher.
• Support extended day and virtual programming before, during and after school.
• Assist in recognizing student growth in math, literacy, attendance, and behavior.
