City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, helping improve academic achievement, attendance, and positive behavior. You will plan and monitor individual progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class support to help students thrive.

The role emphasizes training, teamwork, and community impact, with benefits and a structured program that supports service and personal growth in a dynamic school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience not required; 2-4 weeks training at start of year.
• Strong communication and classroom support skills.
• Ability to work with teachers and staff to support students.

Responsibilities

• Coach and monitor student progress 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist with literacy and math activities and class instruction.
• Create a safe and engaging classroom space with teachers.
