Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students in elementary to high school settings, focusing on academic success, attendance, and positive behavior. Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing collaboration with partner teachers and school staff.

The role emphasizes 1:1 and small-group support, facilitating engaging activities, and contributing to whole-school initiatives to boost student outcomes and community impact.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring or coaching students is a plus.
• Ability to plan and monitor progress for individual students.
• Comfort working with diverse student populations and teachers.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers.
• Support classroom instruction, small-group work, and in-class student assistance.
• Assist with school-wide initiatives to engage students and families.
