Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academic success, attendance, and behaviors in elementary to high school settings. You will plan progress, work with teachers on in-class support, and assist with targeted interventions across a full school day.

Training is provided; you’ll collaborate with school staff to deliver literacy, math, and enrichment activities, including extended-day programming and leadership development.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching or mentoring is not required; training is provided.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills are beneficial.
• Be able to support students’ academic and behavioral development.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers.
• Assist with in-class instruction, breakout spaces, and student support activities.
• Support extended day and virtual programming for students before, during, and after school.
