Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking entry-level, paid full-time staff to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school. You will plan and monitor progress, support teachers, and help create a safe classroom space as part of a nationwide AmeriCorps program.

No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training are provided. The role includes benefits and a living stipend with opportunities for growth and community impact.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary; 2–4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year will support you.
• You will work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way to help students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills through varied activities and encourage assignment completion.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Foster interpersonal skills through daily practice and reflection.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
