Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students in elementary to high school, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor student progress and partner with teachers on in-class support.

No prior experience is required; 2–4 weeks of training. You’ll work with teachers and school staff, participate in student data reviews, and benefit from a comprehensive AmeriCorps program including education awards and relocation

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Coaching and mentoring students to improve academics and attendance.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support classroom instruction.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math skills through diverse activities.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces with teachers.
• Monitor student progress and participate in data reviews.
