Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students in elementary to high school, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school. You’ll plan and monitor progress and collaborate with teachers on classroom support.

No prior experience is required; training is provided at the start of the year. This full-time, paid role includes a living stipend and benefits as part of City Year’s national program.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma, some college or college degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and data
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space and support class activities
• Assist with extended day and after-school programming
