Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps seeks an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support elementary through high school students. You will coach, mentor and monitor progress, collaborating with teachers on classroom instruction to boost attendance and academic achievement.

2–4 weeks of training are provided at the start, with ongoing support from teachers and staff. This is a paid, full-time AmeriCorps position with benefits through City Year.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks training provided at start.
• Ability to work with teachers and school staff.
• Commitment to City Year AmeriCorps mission and service.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
• Develop literacy and math skills through varied activities.
• Create a positive, engaging classroom environment with teachers.
