Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking entry-level Student Success Coaches to mentor students, support teachers, and help boost attendance and achievement. You will receive 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and collaborate with school staff to implement individualized progress plans.

This full-time AmeriCorps role offers in-school service, opportunities to develop interpersonal skills, and access to AmeriCorps education benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring students is a plus.
• Ability to support literacy and math skill-building.
• Capacity to track progress and maintain records in City Year data systems.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers.
• Support in-class instruction and small-group activities.
• Assist with extended day and after-school programming.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space and foster positive behaviors.
