Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive school behaviors. You will plan and monitor student progress and work with teachers on class instruction, breakout spaces, and in-class student support.

Two to four weeks of upfront training are provided, and you will join a team dedicated to student outcomes. Aimed at entry-level candidates, this role offers a paid service opportunity with benefits typical of

Qualifications

• Experience in all tasks is not required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start of the year.
• Commitment to coaching and mentoring students across grade levels.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student outcomes.
• Interest in supporting attendance, literacy, math and positive behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and growth.
• Collaborate with teachers on instruction and class activities.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space and supports for students.
