Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor as a full-time AmeriCorps member in the United States. You will coach and mentor students to achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors in school.

Training is provided, and you’ll collaborate with teachers and school staff to monitor progress and support classroom instruction and student engagement across grade levels.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Age 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma, some college, or college degree.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 (start date varies by location).

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success, attendance, and behavior.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress.
• Work with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
• Collaborate with teachers and team members to collect, record and monitor student progress.
