Job summary

City Year AmeriCorpsMember is an entry‑level, full‑time position focused on coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school levels. Training is provided, and members work with teachers to support academic success, attendance, and positive behavior in schools.

You will participate in data-driven reviews of student progress and help create engaging, safe classroom environments while contributing to citywide initiatives that boost student engagement and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to support literacy and math development.
• Develop behavior management strategies and foster interpersonal skills.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and participate in data-driven reviews.
• Contribute to extended day and virtual programming to engage students and families.
