Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member is an entry-level, paid, full-time position focused on coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school. You will help students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors inside the school day.

City Year provides 2-4 weeks of training at the start of the year and ongoing support from partner teachers and school staff. You will work with students individually and in groups, contribute to classroom routines, and help

Qualifications

• Training provided at the start of the year (2–4 weeks).
• Work with partner teachers and school staff throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• One-to-one and small-group support for identified students.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities and encourage assignment completion.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Develop interpersonal skills through daily practice, reflection and repetition.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and analyze data.
