Job summary
City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high school to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor student progress, work with teachers on in-class support, and participate in school-wide initiatives, with a 2–4 week training at the start of the year. This is an entry-level, paid, full-time position with benefits and a clear path to growth through City Year relationships.
Qualifications
No prior teaching experience required; training provided.
Interest in helping students succeed and develop positive behaviors.
Ability to work with teachers and small groups.
Responsibilities
Coach and mentor students to earn academic success and improve attendance.
Plan and monitor individual student progress and support in-class instruction.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to collect and analyze student data.
Create an engaging, safe classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
