Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance and develop positive behaviors in school communities.

Entry‑level, paid, full‑time position with initial training and ongoing support from teachers and staff. Join a team dedicated to expanding learning opportunities and student engagement across classrooms and after-school activities.

Qualifications

• Experience not required; 2-4 weeks of initial training provided.
• Ability to plan and monitor student progress with teachers.
• Strong interest in helping students succeed academically and behaviorally.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary to high school students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Help students improve literacy, math, attendance and study habits.
• Collaborate with teachers on in-class support and student data tracking.
• Contribute to engaging, safe classroom environments and programs.
