Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance and behavior. You’ll plan progress, work with teachers, and support in-class instruction and after-school programming.

Training is provided; you will join a team of AmeriCorps members to support schools and communities starting mid-2025. This is an entry-level, full-time, paid position with City Year benefits.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required or equivalent; some college experience or college degree acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students to earn academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
• Assist with creating a positive classroom environment and support whole-school initiatives to engage students and families.
