Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and/or high schools to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive school behaviors. You will plan and monitor progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class support.

Entry-level, paid, full-time position with training at the start of the year. You’ll work with partner teachers and school staff to support school-wide initiatives and student engagement across locations.

Qualifications

• No experience required; 2–4 weeks of training at start of year.
• Be eligible to work in the U.S. and be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Be willing to undergo a background check and begin City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and growth.
• Collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
• Support school-wide initiatives and whole-school engagement with families.
