Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to boost academic success, improve attendance and foster positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor individual progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class support, small groups, and targeted literacy or math activities.

Join a structured program with 2–4 weeks of initial training and ongoing support from school staff. You’ll contribute to whole-school initiatives and align with City Year’s mission, with a July/August 2025 start

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided at start of year.
• Commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math activities with varied learning tasks.
• Create and implement behavior support strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress in City Year data system.
• Help foster a safe, engaging classroom environment.
