Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor elementary to high school students to boost academic achievement, attendance, and positive student behavior. You’ll plan progress, partner with teachers, and support in-class instruction and interventions.

We provide 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and ongoing support from school staff, with a safe, engaging classroom environment and opportunities to impact students’ lives through service.

Qualifications

• No degree required; training provided at start of year.
• Ability to support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor progress and adapt activities.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers and staff.
