Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary, middle, and/or high schools to boost academic achievement and attendance. Training is provided, and a clear path to growth exists within School and community initiatives across the city.

You will work with teachers and staff, plan progress reviews, and help students develop positive behaviors and life skills. A bi-weekly living stipend supports this full-time position, with additional AmeriCorps benefits and

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025; start by July/August 2025.
• Be able to pass a background check; AmeriCorps service requires screening.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor identified students, 1:1 or in small groups.
• Deliver literacy and math support and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with teachers to support whole-class instruction and in-class student assistance.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
• Support and participate in extended day and virtual programming before, during and after school.
