City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success and develop positive school behaviors. Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff to support learning and engagement.

As an entry-level, full-time City Year AmeriCorps member, you will work with students across grades, participate in in-class and after-school activities, and receive a range of benefits and supports through City Year and

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success, attendance, and behavior
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers in class activities
• Provide 1:1 and small group tutoring and literacy/math activities
• Create and implement behavior management strategies for students
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to track student data and progress
• Create an engaging, safe, and inclusive classroom space in collaboration with the teacher
• Support extended day and virtual programming and student clubs
• Help run events recognizing student growth in math, literacy, attendance, and behavior
