Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in eligible schools. This entry-level, full-time role focuses on coaching, mentoring, attendance improvement, and helping students develop positive school behaviors.

You will plan and monitor student progress, support teachers in instruction, and participate in training. A 2-4 week initiation training is provided at year start.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary. We provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and learning goals.
• Collaborate with teachers to support instruction and student engagement.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space in partnership with staff.
