Job summary

City Year is seeking entry-level AmeriCorps members to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels. You will support academic achievement, attendance, and positive behaviors while collaborating with teachers and staff.

You’ll receive initial training and ongoing coaching, with program benefits including health and professional support services, and a bi-weekly living stipend.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Ages 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• No more than three AmeriCorps terms in any program.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and outcomes.
• Support teachers with in-class instruction and student activities.
• Participate in 2–4 weeks of training at year start.
• Assist with behavior management and positive student development.
• Collaborate with staff to collect and monitor student data.
