Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high schools to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive school behaviors. You will plan and monitor individual progress and work with teachers on in-class instruction, creating engaging, safe learning spaces while receiving 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year.

This entry-level, paid, full-time role includes ongoing collaboration with school staff and opportunities

Qualifications

• Mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities tailored to student level.
• Create and implement behavior management systems.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress in City Year’s data system.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces with teachers.
