City Year AmeriCorps member supports students across elementary, middle and high school with coaching and mentoring to improve academics, attendance and behavior.

You will plan and monitor individual student progress, work with teachers on class instruction and after-school programs, and help create engaging, supportive learning environments. 2–4 weeks of initial training are provided to start, with ongoing partnership with school staff throughout the year.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; authorization to work in the U.S.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Have served no more than three AmeriCorps terms.
• Agree to a background check.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsabilités

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities by student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect, record, analyze and monitor student progress.
• Support classroom engagement and city year program initiatives.
