Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member sought to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, focusing on academics, attendance, and behavior. Training is provided, with close collaboration with teachers and school staff to monitor progress.

You will participate in 2–4 weeks of initial training and work with partner teachers to support individual students and whole-class activities, in a structured, entry-level role within City Year.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with authorization to work in the U.S.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025 and able to begin by July/August 2025
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
• Have served no more than three AmeriCorps terms

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and/or math activities tailored to student level
• Create and implement a behavior management system
• Collaborate with teachers and monitor student progress in City Year data system
• Support engagement initiatives and family involvement programs
