Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academic success, attendance, and behavior. You will plan and monitor progress, working with teachers on in-class and small-group activities to support student growth.

Training is provided (2–4 weeks). You will engage in extended day and virtual programs, aiming to foster a positive classroom culture and student development across elementary to high school levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching and mentoring students is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to participate in AmeriCorps service and complete required training.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and collaborate with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support classroom instruction.
• Create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment with teachers.
• Support extended day and after-school programming and student clubs.
