Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps offers an entry-level, paid, full-time role focused on coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school. You will partner with teachers to boost academic progress, attendance, and positive behaviors in the classroom, while planning and monitoring individual student goals.

Initial training lasts 2–4 weeks at the start of the year, with ongoing support from teachers and staff throughout the term. This role emphasizes service and community impact.

Qualifications

• Mentors elementary to high school students to support academic progress.
• Coaches students to improve attendance and classroom behaviors.
• Works with teachers to support in-class instruction and student assistance.

Responsibilities

• Coach identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities tailored to student levels.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies.
• Record and monitor student progress for reviews.
