Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors in school settings. You will plan and monitor progress, collaborate with teachers, and support classrooms and in-class activities.

Experience is not required; the program provides 2–4 weeks of initial training and ongoing support from school staff. This entry-level role includes a bi-weekly living stipend and AmeriCorps benefits.

Qualifications

• Entry-level AmeriCorps role focused on coaching and mentoring students.
• 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start of the year.
• Collaboration with teachers and school staff to support student progress.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary to high school students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skills with varied activities by student level.
• Implement behavior management and track individual student progress.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and student services.
• Contribute to engagement initiatives for students and families.
