Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high school levels, focusing on academic success, better attendance and positive school behaviors. No prior experience is required, with 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start of the year.

You will work closely with teachers and staff to support classroom instruction and student progress. You will also participate in school-wide initiatives, extended-day and after-school programs, and engage students

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers with in-class activities.
• Assist with whole-class instruction, breakout spaces and student assistance.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to track progress using City Year’s data system.
