Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking entry-level, paid full-time members to coach and mentor students across grade levels. You will plan and monitor individual progress, support teachers in classroom activities, and participate in school-wide initiatives to boost attendance and achievement.

This role includes comprehensive 2–4 week training and ongoing support from teachers and staff to help you develop essential skills in tutoring, classroom management, and student engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in all listed tasks is not necessary; training is provided.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.
• Commitment to completed service through program dates.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support teachers with literacy and math activities and in-class instruction.
• Help plan and monitor student progress and behavior.
• Contribute to engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces.
• Assist with after-school and enrichment programs to boost attendance and engagement.
