Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as entry-level, paid, full-time student success coaches and mentors. You will coach and mentor students, plan progress, and collaborate with teachers to support academic achievement and positive behavior.

Training is provided at the start of the year. You will participate in extended day and after-school activities, supporting enrichment, homework help, clubs and service learning, while benefiting from AmeriCorps program resources and a generous benefits

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; eligibility not includes those with DACA at this time.
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students to support academic success and positive behaviors.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers on class instruction.
• Support extended day and virtual programming, enrichment, homework help, clubs, and service learning.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.
