Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member serves as an entry-level, paid, full-time role dedicated to coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school levels. You will support academic success, improve attendance, and help develop positive behaviors in a collaborative school environment.

Training is provided, and you will work with partner teachers and school staff to monitor progress and contribute to classroom and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Have served no more than three AmeriCorps terms in a state or national program.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring students 1:1 and in small groups; support academic coaching and interpersonal development.
• Plan and monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives and student engagement activities with teachers and staff.
