Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps in Oklahoma is seeking an entry-level, paid, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor. You will coach and mentor students across grade levels, plan progress, and work with teachers on classroom activities to help students achieve academic success.

You will participate in 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and collaborate with school staff to support literacy, math, attendance, and positive behaviors, while contributing to school-wide initiatives and community

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (Authorization to work in the U.S. is required).
• Be 17-25 years old by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or a college degree.
• Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program.
• Agree to and complete a background check.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 (start date varies by location).

Responsibilities

• Coach 1:1 and small groups to support student learning.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities tailored to student level.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies in classrooms.
• Collaborate with teachers and teammates to monitor and analyze student progress.
• Contribute to extended day and after-school programs and student clubs.
• Support school-wide initiatives to boost student engagement and family involvement.
