Job summary

City Year in Oklahoma is seeking an entry-level, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor. You will coach and mentor students, help improve attendance, and support teachers with classroom activities across elementary to high school levels.

No prior experience is required; training is provided at the start of the year. AmeriCorps benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance options, a biweekly living stipend, relocation support, and access to education awards.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and behavior using City Year data systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities tailored to each student’s level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress in City Year’s data system.
• Assist with school-wide programs and student engagement activities.
• Plan extended day and virtual programming for students.
• Recognize and celebrate student growth in math, literacy, attendance and behavior.
