Job summary

City Year seeks an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary to high school in Oklahoma. As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you will coach, mentor, assist teachers, monitor student progress and help create engaging, safe classrooms.

You will receive training, a bi-weekly living stipend, health and other benefits, plus relocation support where eligible and opportunities to contribute to school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025
• Agree to and complete a background check
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 (start date varies by location)

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to earn academic success, improve attendance and develop positive behaviors
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on in-class supports
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students 1:1 and in groups
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives to increase student engagement and family involvement
• Assist with extended day and virtual programming and student clubs

Education

GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
