Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps program invites you to join as an entry-level, paid, full-time coach and mentor in Oklahoma. You’ll work with students to promote academic success, improve attendance, and foster positive behaviors, with training provided at the year’s start.

As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you will support teachers, plan activities, monitor progress, and contribute to whole-school initiatives to help students thrive in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year will support you.
• Ability to work with diverse students and collaborate with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skill development with varied activities.
• Create and implement behavior management and supportive classroom spaces.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and participate in data reviews.
• Lead and participate in school-wide programs and student engagement initiatives.
