Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, focusing on academic success, attendance, and positive behavior. Training is provided, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff to support students’ progress.

You will participate in 2–4 weeks of training at program start, then work with identified students 1:1 or in small groups, supporting literacy and math activities and classroom initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in all listed tasks is not necessary. We provide 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year.

Responsibilities

• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students: work 1:1 and in small groups, develop literacy and math skills, create a behavior management system, foster interpersonal skills, and monitor progress using City Year's data system.
• Support whole-school initiatives to increase student and family engagement through after-school programs, enrichment activities, and student clubs.
