Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle, and high schools to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor progress, collaborating with teachers on in-class support and whole-school initiatives.

We provide 2–4 weeks of training at the start, with ongoing guidance from partner teachers and school staff.

Qualifications

• Must have GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to earn academic success, improve attendance and develop positive behaviors.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers on classroom activities.
• Provide training and support to students through 2–4 weeks of initial training and ongoing guidance.
