Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members will coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high schools, helping them improve academics, attendance, and behavior, while planning progress with teachers on in-class support and whole-class instruction.

This entry-level, paid, full-time role includes 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and focuses on literacy and math activities, small groups, and creating a safe, engaging classroom space for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year.
• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist with literacy and math activities and engage students in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor progress and support learning.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
