Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high school, helping them earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor progress and work with teachers on class instruction and student support.

We provide 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and ongoing support from teachers and staff. This is an entry-level, full-time AmeriCorps position focused on student growth and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring students 1:1 and in small groups
• Plan and monitor individual student progress
• Collaborate with teachers on classroom instruction and student support
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space in collaboration with the teacher
• Support extended day and after-school programs and student clubs
