Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high school levels, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school. You will plan and monitor individual progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class support and student assistance.

Training is provided (2–4 weeks at year start); you will work with partner teachers and school staff throughout the year, supporting extended day and after-school programs,

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary. We provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring elementary, middle and/or high school students to help them earn academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on in-class student assistance.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students through 1:1 and small group work.
