City Year AmeriCorps members serve as full-time, entry-level tutors and mentors in schools, providing coaching to help students achieve academic success and improve attendance. Members work with teachers to support individualized student plans, class instruction, and in-class student assistance, while engaging families in schoolwide initiatives.

Training is provided at the start of the year (2–4 weeks), with ongoing support from partner teachers and school staff to maximize impact and growth for

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; work authorization in the U.S. required.
• Ages 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma, some college, or college degree.

Responsabilités

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to improve academics, attendance, and behavior.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress; work with teachers on instruction and data.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities tailored to student level and encourage assignment completion.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect, record, analyze and monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
